Francis Wemyss-Charteris-March, the 10th Earl of Wemyss and March was the founder and 1st Commanding Officer of the 15th Middlesex (London Scottish) Rifle Volunteers in 1859. Right: Robert Hepburn Esq. 1810-1901. It was in Mr Robert Hepburn's house at 8 Davis Street, London, on the 4th July 1859, that the raising of the Regiment was first discussed. Robert Hepburn was a dentist and enrolled as an honorary member of the Regiment. |
