PM McLucas plays at the National Television Awards at the O2
PM Jim McLucas plays Richard Wilson onto the stage at the O2 to present the Best Situation Comedy award. At the end of the award, Dermot O'Leary gives a special thanks to PM Jim McLucas.

I am very pleased to announce that HM The Queen has appointed HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO ADC to be the first Royal Honorary Colonel of The London Regiment, from 1 May 2011. He will be referred to as Colonel, The London Regiment.

Major David Li Carter TD has handed over command to Major Geoffrey MHC Strickland. WO2 Company Sergeant Major Justin Tregidgo has handed over to WO2 Company Sergeant Major Steven John Carter (Ex Irish Guards).

John Wren our Museum Curator and Librarian has decided to retire after 10 years of loyal service. He has done so much to get the museum and its store up dated and in order, as well as keep the library and index file system straight. The photograph show him being presented with a specially inscribed silver Quaich by the Regimental Colonel at the Staff Christmas lunch.

Joe Byrne's Funeral
Regret to inform you that Joe Byrne passed away last week. I am sure that most of you will remember him. His photo is on the G Company website 1975 photos.
His funeral will be held at the City of London Cemetery in Wanstead, which is a10 minute walk north from Manor Park Station (on the Liverpool Street metro service to Shenfield) at 14:00 hours on Monday 12th February.
I hope you will join me in expressing condolences with his family.
The family have requested family flowers only (that also means no regimental wreath please).

The Victoria Cross won by George Mitchell in 1944 has been donated to the Regiment. We now own all VC's won by members of the Regiment in both World Wars. View the photographs.
